New journal: [info]crystalsymphony

I created this journal because:

• I hated my old username
• My journal was stuffing up, i.e. my comment prompts over e-mail were prompting me about ancient comments and not new ones and my friends page was cutting out lots of entries when no filter was even on.
• I like this new username much better :)
• I want a clean start without loads of communities cluttering up my friends list. I can't bring myself to delete them, so I thought I may as well start anew.
• I wanted to change my journal to friends only, but it would take an eternity to convert all of my entries into friends only ones.
• I only wanted people who actually read livejournal entries to read my entries, so all the people who don't read won't know about this journal and so will obviously not be friended.
• I can't remember the rest of my reasons :(

Don't worry, I'm not copying Tarni. I made this journal before I found out about hers, and it was originally meant to be my new secret journal because I lost the password to my other one and the password for my e-mail account I was using for it *sheepish grin* I had decided a while ago that I would make a new account, and here it is. One of the main reasons that I am getting a new account is because my journal was seriously stuffed up, plus my brother found out about this one and won't leave me alone about it.

I guess I am sad to see this journal go but I won't delete it, so you can all see my entries. If you want to friend my other journal, go ahead. If you don't, don't bother.

I am really disgusted with Australian society at the moment. First there were the huge racial riots in Sydney at the beach, where European Australians all went and bashed up the Lebanese people that they saw and pretty much anyone else of a Middle-Eastern appearance. And we boast about being a warm, accepting, multicultural society. Pah. Whatever. Apparently it was all sparked by some text messages being sent around.

Now loads more racial e-mails are being sent around by this group claiming to be the 'patriotic sons and daughters of the ANZACs', or something like that. To make matters worse two men were trying to organise the same sort of demonstration right here in Perth.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Sunday I gave [info]fantasyoverdose a kidney (1000 points). Last Thursday I punched [info]winter_noir in the arm (-10 points). Last Saturday I helped [info]sandsofpatience see the light (8 points). In January I bought porn for [info]red_elf_49 (10 points). Last week I had a shoot-out with rival gang lords on the 5 near LA (-76 points).

Overall, I've been nice (932 points). For Christmas I deserve a red Radio-Flyer wagon!

Sincerely,
mystical_pools

*laments in a very lament-ish way* O! Truly fortune has had his dadarstadly hand in on the interferences on this fickle world, especially the painfully ignorant newsagents owners and stupid bus drivers.

*cough* Yeah, sorry about that. I just spent all of yesterday quoting (or at least trying to quote) Shakespeare in the hope that I will at least remember some lines for my English exam. Luckily, I only had to use one quote from that, one quote from 'A Document' by Judith Wright and one quote from 'The Pedestrian' by Ray Bradbury in my second essay in the exam. The first essay was a comprehension one, where I had to analyse the attitudes presented in a poem called 'Timothy Winters' by Charles Cauley. So, yeah, the English exam was so much easier than I expected.

Science was the very first exam that I did, which happened to be yesterday. Chem was alright, Physics was pretty good and Biology was a laugh. Seriously - I don't even know why they bother giving us exams on Biology. I'm doing it next year, anyway. I think I'm the only one from the top Science class that is doing it apart from Tarni (who is doing it very unwillingly ^^), so I (might) aim for the Biology award next year. Oh yeah, I got my Physics mark back today and I got an A. *does dance* Yayness!

Um... Maths was my only exam today and it was fairly easy, except for that weird 'find the bearing from the caravan park to campsite 2' question, where I scribbled down some diagrams and made up some figures. Go me. Other than that it wasn't too bad.

So I only have History to go, which involves memorising loads of meaningless statistics, such as how many Australians were killed during WW1 (very morbid... I sometimes wonder about our teacher) and how many Germans were living in Australia at the time. *sigh* I should probably go and do that...

Oh yeah... TOMORROW'S THURSDAY!!!1!!1!!!!!!!!!! Not only is it the last day of school, it is also the day that HARRY POTTER COMES OUT!!! That means that I can sit there at 7:15pm (I'm getting there at 5pm ^^) to drool over the resident hotties of the movie, and squeal in a very fangirlish way when Harry goes in the bath and when Cedric and Harry are pretty much tearing each other's clothes off in an attempt to get to the Cup. And I can then cry over Cedric's death and throw up all over Hermione's hideous dress. I'm told that it looks much better in the movie than it did in screencaps. I certainly hope so ^^

Sooooo... I'm really excited. *nods* Yup. Now I have to go and do History...

Alright... I just thought I'd vent here... I'll keep the text small so I don't annoy anyone or totally mess up their layout on their friends page... ^^

I HATE EXAMS!!!!

...

*dies* I'm not even in Year 11 yet... Can you imagine me doing TEE? I'd be having stress attacks 24/7.

And the screen on my TV died. As in imploded in my face. While I was trying to watch the re-runs of Lost and the season finale of House for the 50 millionth time. *dies* At least the computer moniter hasn't died yet... It won't take long though... It's already flickering and purple.

I just feel sooooooooo tired. Whoever created the idea of exams in our school should die a slow, long, painful death... *yawns heavily* And it is only 9:14 in the morning. Thank goodness tomorrow is Saturday...

And dirty, second-hand kk presents should be banned. Sorry, I'm just sick of giving really nice presents to people every year and always getting dirty, scratched second hand stuff that I don't need in return.

Hee hee... I am so easily amused... Hannah has just shown me this really cool picture that you can put up on your school mydesktop... *sniggers uncontrollably* It's just this little penguin walking past and then this other one randomly hits it on the back and it falls over and breaks through the ice... *laughs* I am sooo easily amused... I'm just sitting here laughing whenever I think of it...

Okay, I'll stop spamming up your f-lists now :)

Yeah - I' obviously not at school today because I'm sick :(

Could everyone please collect work for me? For those people who have read this, please tell the people in my classes. Thanks!

P.S. The kitty doesn't look sick enough to be sick *points to mood* Aside from the green colour, that is.

I swear I'm shaking all over. I'm in a state of shock...

We were in music and in a practise room when Kathleen came running in saying that there was a bird in her room. We ran over there and I tried to get it out but it kept on flying everywhere... It then got stuck between two windows... I keep on seeing it's poor little face squished against the window... *cries* Imagine if Monty or Lochie were there instead... It's little heart was beating so fast and it looked like it would die from shock...

Eventually we got it out and gave it to Mr K, who went to go give it to Mr Ryan who performs evil science experiments on birds... *is very very very scared and is trembling* looks after them.

Wow... I'm still trembling...

Wow... I've had a really productive day. If you don't want to know what goes on in the boring life of moi, just skip this paragraph. *ahem* To begin with, I cleared out my entire hard drive and by that I don't mean backed up, I mean sorted out and organised. It took me forever, but it was worth it. Now I actually know where everything is! Yay! *does psycho dance* Anywho... I then finished 3 assignments, did an exam study plan and did loads of boring homework. Don't you all feel proud of me? *angelic smile*

Oh yeah, I HAVE FINALLY UPDATED MY FANFICTION!!! And after months (I'm not exaggerating) of begging Tarni and Hanusia to actually read it I really hope that they do now... *evil glare of doom* After all, I do need a beta reader. It is a Harry Potter one and can be found here.

I also have pictures from the school fashion parade. Basically it is a really professional-ish parade where the art classes from years 9 - 12 show off their work during the year. Because I'm not doing art next year and it is loads of work, I haven't put that much work in as other people. To do well in art, you need to spend all your time on art in this school. Considering I want to be a doctor or vet, I can't let art get in the way. Anyway, the fashion parade was really, really, really fun. I showed my 'Warrior Princess' outfit and also my 'Fantastic Fascinator'. I felt like such a sped doing the Warrior Princess one - we had to skip down the catwalk. It was fun though :) Doing the fascinator one I felt like my high heels were going to punch a hole right through the catwalk - it was really weird. I am proud to say that I didn't fall off the catwalk ^^.

Lookie lookie here for photos! )

On Monday we had awards night, and I have a new hero. To begin with, I had to endure an entire day of being screamed at by teachers to sing louder and stay still, which really tired me out. After our rendition of "A Chorus Line Medley" (which took a long time) was our principal's notoriously long speech. Mr K (the music teacher) forgot to tell the choir to sit down, so we had to stand up the entire time, not being able to move. I was swaying on the spot and I felt like I was going to fall off. Mr K didn't even realise until 5 minutes through her speech, when he sat upright, looked up and down the entire choir and then started to look like he was paying attention to her speech instead of lounging on the chair. Anyway, I was making plans in my head to kill him as soon as possible and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. All of my tiredness and discomfort was relieved by our guest speaker. Apparently Ms Pitos (the principal) thought he was going to speak about the Constitution, but instead he delivered a wonderful after-dinner speech. Some of the things that he brought up were:

  • That principals are dung beetles
  • "Desperate Housewives" was based on a Santa Maria staff meeting, but Ms Pitos was considered too raunchy to appear on the cast
  • That Aquinas boys don't wear enough deodorant (so true... *remembers dancing lessons*)
  • That speech nights are boring and that principals have to find adequately boring guest speakers. He then went on to say that they even overlooked Kim Beazley, the Australian Leader of the Opposition in government, who happened to be in the audience as his daughter goes to Santa.
  • That the Eagles can't play football. *cheers*
  • That Mercy nuns are scary
  • That he was forced to give this speech

There was loads more... I was falling over in my seat. Ms Andrews then came out and thanked him for his wonderful speech on 'ethics' and 'leadership' and assured him that the year 12's had taken every word of his to heart. I can imagine Ms Pitos going home and throwing darts at a picture with his face on it that night :) Sooooooo funny :) Apparently the staff had a meeting about it the next day :)
